Acer Configuration Manager

Configuration managers are in charge of coordinating and directing configurations of all kinds of products. A configuration is the sum of interrelated features of a product, both physical and functional. What does a configuration manager do?

In configuration management, individual parts of a product are put together in the respective version as packages or configurations and then managed. This allows you to define, for example, which product configuration is passed on to which customers.

Configuration management ensures that both minor and major changes are documented. Misconfigurations can result in poor performance, inconsistency, or non-compliance, which in turn affects business operations and security.

Configuration managers not only coordinate the harmonisation of the individual components of a product, but are also responsible for its overall configuration description. This means that they plan and execute configuration management throughout the lifecycle of a project.

The sub-areas of configuration management include the organisation and planning already described, as well as configuration identification. Here, managers determine which units make up a product and how they are structured.

Configuration managers review and update existing configuration management plans. They work with the configuration teams in the development of configuration management tools and help assist in the maintenance of these tools. They also analyze any issues related to configuration and propose solutions to fix them.

They must also have knowledge of version managers like Bazaar, codeBeamer, Polarion or Team Foundation Server as well as knowledge of configuration management tools such as Rational Synergy.

Configuration managers must also possess the ability to think analytically and work effectively with team members, other employees and customers. A structured way of working as well as strong problem-solving skills are both important as well.

Errors in the configuration or its documentation can lead to lengthy and costly readjustments and so managers should also have a high degree of accuracy and demonstrate a high attention to detail.

For entry-level employees, the salary is around $57,000 a year whereas managers at a senior level can earn up to $126,000 a year. The average salary for a configuration manager is around $87,000 a year.

Is awc.exe safe, or is it a virus or malware? The first thing that will help you determine if a particular file is a legitimate Windows process or a virus, is the location of the executable itself. For example, a process like awc.exe should run from C:\Program Files\acer\acer configuration manager\awc.exe and not elsewhere. To confirm, open the Task Manager, go to View -> Select Columns and select "Image Path Name" to add a location column to your Task Manager. If you find a suspicious directory here, it may be a good idea to investigate this process further.Another tool that can sometimes help you detect bad processes is Microsoft's Process Explorer. Start the program (it does not require installation) and activate "Check Legends" under Options. Now go to View -> Select Columns and add "Verified Signer" as one of the columns. If the "Verified Signer" status of a process is listed as "Unable to Verify", you should take a moment look at the process. Not all good Windows processes have a Verified Signature label, but neither do any of the bad ones. The most important facts about awc.exe:Located in C:\Program Files\Acer\Acer Configuration Manager\ subfolder;Publisher: Acer IncorporatedFull Path: C:\Program Files\acer\acer configuration manager\awc.exeHelp file: Publisher URL: www.acer.comKnown to be up to 3.92 MB in size on most Windows; If you had any difficulties with this executable, you should determine if it's trustworthy before deleting awc.exe. To do this, find this process in Task Manager.

Intune allows for the provisioning of devices with an existing OS. Intune is able to enforce compliance and configuration settings bringing it into alignment with your corporate requirements. Intune is also able to deploy applications to that device once it has been registered in Azure Active Directory and enrolled in Intune management.

To roll a system back to the most recent successful configuration of the registry, you can restart the computer in Safe Mode and select the Last Known Good Configuration option, or if you've created a system restore point, you can try restoring to it.

The device requires manual configuration. See the hardware documentation or contact the hardware vendor for instructions on manually configuring the device. After you configure the device itself, you can use the Resources tab in Device Manager to configure the resource settings in Windows.

The system hive has exceeded its maximum size and new devices cannot work until the size is reduced. The system hive is a permanent part of the registry associated with a set of files that contains information related to the configuration of the computer on which the operating system is installed. Configured items include applications, user preferences, devices, and so on. The problem might be specific devices that are no longer attached to the computer but are still listed in the system hive.

We have been trying to capture a windows 10 image from acer tab(acer switch 11 sw5 171 p 36vb) using SCCM capture media sequence(in USB) , capture task sequence fails after 0x80070714 error immediately when device boots in OOBE. However the same capture sequence is working for capturing a win7 laptop . Seems like the USB to Ethernet connector is unable to get IP in OOBE so is unable to save the image over network share.

I have questions regarding OSD on acer tab1) simple USB to Ethernet connector will work for PXE booting over LAN, or is there any specific hardware I need to procure ?2) Any windows 10 specific step that is needed to be performed, not much documentation is available right now over the internet.3) Is MDT required for OSD of win 10 with sccm 2012 R2 sp1?4) boot(x64) image present in sccm 2012 r2 sp1 can be used to deploy window 10 ? or any specific changes to be made5) do I need to put the USB to Ethernet connectors driver in boot image, currently it is detected as a USB device in BIOS not as an external NIC ? thanks in advance

Phoenix TrustedCore Setup Utility is a hardware configuration program built into your system's Basic Input/ Output System (BIOS). Since most systems are already properly configured and optimized, there is normally no need to run this utility.

IMPORTANT: If you repeatedly receive "Run Setup" messages, the RTC battery located on the system board (RTC1) may be defective. In this case, the system cannot retain configuration values in CMOS. Replace the RTC battery with a new one.

The Setup Utility loads the configuration values in a battery-backed nonvolatile memory called CMOS RAM. This memory area is not part of the system RAM, which allows configuration data to be retained when power is turned off. The values take effect when the system is booted. Power-On Self Test (POST) uses these values to configure the hardware. If the values and the actual hardware do not agree, POST generates an error message. You must run this utility to change the BIOS settings from the default or current configuration.

I'm using slim as my display manager with LXDE, and noticed that when I went to configure the touchpad by following the directions given by the wiki, slim would crash on startup. Eventually, I tracked it down to the 50-cros-touchpad.conf file that it had me create under /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/. Looking into it, I found out that there were other similar configuration files stored in /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/. I moved the configuration file there, and had no further problems.

As this article is aimed at helping those who prefer to use SSMS instead of the commandline, we have discussed the option which allows us to change the configurationfrom the "SQL Server Configuration Manager" visual tool.

The main differences between the Swift 3 and 5 lines are that all the Swift 5 models have a touchscreen while none of the Swift 3 configurations do. Moving up to the Swift 7 will roughly double the price and get you a substantially thinner and lighter laptop. The specs of the Swift 7 are two to three generations old though, so unless your only concern is with portability, we'd ignore those models until a refresh.

In terms of charging, you can expect about 4 hours worth of runtime off of a 30-minute charge. Acer claims up to 16 hours of battery life for this model and 10-11 hours for most of the lower-end configurations. In our testing, we were able to achieve slightly over 15 hours while idle at the desktop, slightly over 10 hours doing normal work and web browsing, and about 2.5 hours on performance-heavy tasks at full load.

The problem was resolved. The configuration of the monitor should be Xinerama, but I was changing the window display manager of ATi's Catalyst Control Center. I changed the option to Xinerama and it worked fine.

Exact specifications, prices, and availability will vary by region. To learn more about availability, product specifications and prices in specific markets, please contact your nearest Acer office via www.acer.com. 2ff7e9595c
